Construction will occur in the Eastbound direction of the Newark Bay - Hudson County Extension (NB-HCE) from Milepost N5.1 to Milepost N6.0 (14C toll plaza), starting on 5/3/2019 and lasting until 5/6/2019. Over this period, the Eastbound (HWE) roadway will be reduced to one lane approaching the 14C toll plaza (normal configuration is two lanes) and toll lanes 5-7 will be closed. Toll lanes 8 and 9 along the Westbound (HEW) roadway at the 14C toll plaza will also be closed.
It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate to severe during peak weekend travel periods, specifically 9:00AM - 9:00PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Nature of work: Installation of the new precast slabs at the NB-HCE 14C toll plaza.
Description of New Traffic Pattern: The left lane of the Eastbound (HWE) roadway approaching the 14C toll plaza, along with toll lanes 5 – 7 will be closed on or about 5/3/2019 and last until 5/6/2019. Toll lanes 8 and 9 along the Westbound (HEW) roadway at the 14C toll plaza will also be closed during that time.
Proposed Start Date of New Traffic Pattern: The new traffic pattern is scheduled to be installed Friday, May 3, 2019 at 8:00PM, and be in place until Monday, May 6, 2019 at 5:00AM.
Anticipated Traffic Impacts: It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate to severe during peak weekend travel periods, specifically 9:00AM – 9:00PM on Saturday.
Other Comments: NJTA will advise motorists by Highway Advisory Radio and Overhead Variable Message Signs at Newark Bay - Hudson County Extension Mileposts N1.1 and N4.4. Coordination with TRANSCOM, PANYNJ, local jurisdictions, and NJDOT is ongoing.
