9/28/2018: Weekend Traffic Advisory

A stage of toll plaza pavement reconstruction and miscellaneous improvements will occur in the Westbound direction of the Newark Bay - Hudson County Extension (NB-HCE) at the Interchange 14C Toll Plaza starting at 8:00 PM on 9/28/2018 and lasting until 05:00 AM on 10/1/2018. Over this time period, three toll plaza lanes in the Westbound direction of the NB-HCE roadway will be closed (normal configuration is 5 toll lanes).

It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate to severe during peak travel periods, typically 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Motorists can call 511 from any phone from a hands-free device (Listen for the initial voice prompt and ask for traffic conditions. Project:  New Jersey Turnpike Contract T100.321. Rehabilitation of Structure Nos. N6.49, N6.80E And N6.80W, Milepost N5.80 to N8.20

Route/Direction/MP:  New Jersey Turnpike Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension (NB-HCE)/ I-78 Westbound - Milepost N5.80 to N5.90 in Jersey City, NJ

Nature of work:  The work involves toll plaza pavement reconstruction and miscellaneous repairs. 

Description of New Traffic Pattern:  During this stage, three Interchange 14C Toll Plaza lanes along the Westbound Roadway will be closed (normal configuration is 5 toll lanes).

Proposed Start Date of New Traffic Pattern:  The new traffic pattern is scheduled to be installed at 8:00 PM on September 28, 2018, and be in place until 5:00 AM on October 1, 2018.

Anticipated Traffic Impacts:  It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate to severe during peak travel periods, typically 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Other Comments:  NJTA will advise motorists by Highway Advisory Radio.  Coordination with TRANSCOM, PANYNJ, local jurisdictions, and NJDOT is ongoing.
