A stage of bridge deck repairs and miscellaneous improvements will occur in the Eastbound direction of the Newark Bay – Hudson County Extension (NB-HCE) from the Interchange 14C Toll Plaza to the intersection of Jersey Avenue and 12th Street in Jersey City, NJ starting on or about 10/13/2017 and lasting until 10/16/2017. Over this time period, the NB-HCE Eastbound roadway will be reduced to one lane (normal configuration is three lanes between Milepost N6.00 to N6.75 and two lanes between Milepost N6.75 to the merge with Route 139 just prior to the Holland Tunnel). No shoulders will be present between Grand St. off-ramp and N8.10, but disabled vehicles will be advised to park behind the cone closure.
It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate to severe during peak travel periods, specifically 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Variable message signs to alert motorists of the construction will be placed along the Eastbound Roadway at Milepost N4.7 one week in advance of the planned construction start date.

Description of New Traffic Pattern: The left and center lanes of the NB-HCE eastbound roadway will be closed continuously. Over this time period, one lane of traffic will be maintained along the eastbound roadway right lane in the three lane section and the right shoulder in the two lane section (normal configuration is three lanes between Milepost N6.00 to N6.75 and two lanes between Milepost N6.75 to N8.10) starting on or about 10/13/2017 and lasting until 10/16/2017. Over this time period, no shoulders will be present between Grand St. off-ramp and N8.10.
Proposed Start Date of New Traffic Pattern: The new traffic pattern is scheduled to be installed October 13, 2017, and be in place until October 16, 2017.
Anticipated Traffic Impacts: It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate to severe during peak travel periods, specifically 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
